Orcs, often known as orcblokes, are an uncommon people in Fantasy Australia. They do not have a royal family, or a capital city.
They are Medium sized but tall humanoids, heavily-built, and considered by most other peoples to be unattractive and brutish. They are sometimes compared to pigs. While uncommon, they are similar enough in appearance and behaviour to humans that interbreeding is not uncommon, and there are many Half-Orcs who intermingle with human residents.
There are no known Orc individuals at this time.
Trivia[]
- Orcs as based on creatures that appeared in Germanic and Old English folklore and popularised by JRR Tolkien in the mid twentieth century. They have proliferated in fiction since. Unlike Tolkien's orcs, who were derived from Elvish stock, Orcs in a Dungeons & Dragons setting were created by the god Gruumsh who warred with but was significantly different from the Elvish god Corellon. D&D orcs also have a lifespan more similar to humans and, though tribal and warlike, a significantly more human-like worldview.
