McKenzie is a wizard who takes School of Evocation tradition at 2nd level.

Wizards are ritual casters. This means that they can cast any spell as a ritual (taking 10 minutes + the normal spellcasting time) without expending a spell slot. However, they can also cast their prepared spells each day by expending spell slots. 

All wizards begin with a spellbook containing six 1st Level spells. Adding a new spell to this spellbook takes two hours and 50gp for each level of spell. (eg 1st level - 2 hours, 50 gold; 3rd level - 6 hours, 150 gold)

Evocation wizards concentrate on powerful elemental effects. They can copy evocation spells into their spellbooks at half the time and gold. They can also sculpt spells, allowing them to choose 1+(spell level) creatures within an area to not be struck by an area of effect spell. At Level 6, their cantrips do half damage even if a creature passes the saving throw (though the creature suffers no additional effects, eg Slow).
